Come On! Admit it... this is a great movie (by GrbgFAN) |
Ok... I understand this had needless sex scenes and horrifying, make you wanna-gag gore levels, but what I don't understand is why anyone would go see this movie and expect nothing like this. I am a teenager... that's the main targeted age group for R rated movies nowadays... so believe me, I have seen my share of sex scenes, but you have got to admit, as an R rated movie watcher, are the sex scenes really as bad as everyone is saying they are? Next thing, if you go to a sequel for a movie where the original was pretty gory, aren't you going to expect for the sequel to be a few <more> |
Okay (by Buffy-19) |
The movie is okay I missed the opening 15 minutes which were meant to be the best There is no plot, just nude men and women. But that's okay if that is the kind of movie you want. The gore is pretty much the same as the original.Rent the video, but don't bother going to the cinema ** out of ***** |
great horror and action movie (by warrior-21) |
This movie is a great flip of the coin on the horror genre. The storyline is not large and confusing, but is exciting at the same time. This movie is a good and former evil against evil. It shows you that humanity exists even in the strangest of places. This movie also showed that certain characters never learn their lesson even if you change the circumstances. This is a must-see movie and is very moving so don't miss it. |
"The sexiest alien in the universe is back" (by antipas2000) |
The first film introduced Natasha Henstridge as the alien "Sil". Now she is back, recreated as a half human/half alien called "Eve".But there is another trouble ahead. We have seen what the alien was like in "Species". Now it is the other gender as well...NASA's recent mission to Mars brings back an unexpected surprise. For years many scientists have wondered whether there was life on Mars, but the astronauts that land on it bring back life with them. Alien life... The soil samples that the astronauts bring back from the planet contain alien DNA that infects <more> |
As good as the First (by lordzedd-3) |
I got to admit, that this was as good as the first movie, we get to see what the male of the species would look like in Patrick and there is this great shot when Patrick tries to commit suicide by blowing his head off with a double barrel shotgun and it grows back. The coolest shots of the entire movie. The characters are well written like the first movie and the monster design is cool. It drags on at points but hey, what's perfect. So all and all I feel that if you liked the first movie then I think that you will enjoy this one. However if you didn't enjoy the first movie then watch <more> |
Less On The Depth, More On The Sex (by shaunbarrett) |
While nowhere as overly lovable as the original, and far less interesting than the succeeder, Species 2 is commonly regarded as the downfall of the series.I don't blame those who say that. It may just be me but the CGI looks worse. And the gore is piled on by the bucket load. Since the gore was one of the reasons the original got a cult following. Guess they thought "Hey, people like the blood. Lets add more this time..." The gore appears to be a desperation move in this flick. And speaking of desperation, we move to the...other....reason the original got a cult following. The <more> |
holy crap this got a low IMDb rating! (by LinkGoku) |
i saw this DVD having never seen SPECIES II before thinking "i wonder if its as good as the first was?" and all i have to say in response to watching it is "how does it only have 3.8/10?" I didn't have much expectations for it as a sequel but i was pleasantly surprised.Michael Madsen and Marg Helgenberger return acting just as great as they were in the first film, as did Natasha Henstridge, Justin Lazard was a fantastic choice for his role, Mykelti Williamson, wasn't exactly award winning but he could have been a lot worse, and the same goes for James Cromwell.the <more> |
Adequate sequel with some good points (by kannibalcorpsegrinder) |
After returning from a mission to Mars, a team of experts' tracks down the infected astronaut carrying a parasitic alien before he can meet up and mate with a similar human/alien hybrid.A very rewarding sequel to a fine original, this one turned out to be very enjoyable. By adapting a more straight-up storyline instead of dealing with all the science and facts, there's considerably more action in this one in terms of splattered victims which seems to be the main focus of the first half. With an increase of splatter, there's some great kills and creature make-up used during those <more> |
great movie, stop dissin it people (by davido1228) |
I thought that Species to was great. I do not see why people continually are saying that it is bad. it lives up to all the expectations of a b-reel sci-fi movie, and was never meant to be more. ya there were some unexplained things, but THIS IS NOT NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC PEOPLE. so what if it has a few science errors? i have seen science shows with science errors, bigger ones than Species II ever had. so please people, stop saying it is bad. This movie is one which i can just zone out on with lots of gore, and even a few babies pooping out of stomachs. can't you people see the beauty in <more> |
